Hearing Loss Can Lead to Isolation and Depression

Untreated hearing loss does not only mean that you need to have the TV turned up or have things repeated. It can affect your overall quality of life. When hearing loss makes communication too difficult, it often results in social isolation as people withdraw from engaging with family and friends. Uncorrected hearing loss gives rise to poorer quality of life and reduced social activity which may lead to depression.

Adults 50 and older with untreated hearing problems are more likely to experience depression, anxiety, anger, frustration, emotional instability and paranoia. Don't let your hearing problems become more than just an occasional "Huh?" Have your hearing checked to find out if there is help for you. Call us, we can help. (865) 688-8700.
